Come And Take It


Gonzales Texas is the place where the battle for Texas Independence began. The first shots were fired from the famous “Come and Take It” Cannon on October 2, 1835. Tourists are attracted to the many museums, historical markers and opportunities to see and learn about Texas History. Gonzales is not only rich with history it provides many opportunities for business development and expansion.

In 1988 Gonzales was awarded official Main Street Status and is recognized as a National Main Street City. To date, over $12 million dollars have been directed to economic development and restructuring of downtown through a partnership of the Gonzales Economic Development Corporation, Gonzales Main Street Program and the private sector. Opportunities for growth and development abound in downtown Gonzales.

Gonzales is also home to a well established, growing industrial park. The industrial park is currently home to companies such as Adams Extract & Spices, TXGN Short Line Rail Logistics Center, Wrangler Trucking, Tyson Foods, Texas Trampoline, and other industrial and manufacturing businesses.
